Doug Grubert Education was registered as a business (Sole Trader) in January 2018. As an educator with diverse interests & skills, small business lets me collaborate on projects & programs within schools, at University and in industry. It also provides the freedom to experiment with original initiatives.
…many, highly disparate interests…
My educational practice is characterised by broad experience and interest. I’ve delivered regular, scheduled classes for all grades from Prep to Year 12, including several pre-tertiary subjects. I’m a current Faculty Member with the School of Medicine at UTAS where I teach doctors, nurses and paramedics on the Healthcare in Remote and Extreme Environments Program. I’m an Outdoor Educator who has led six student expeditions to the Himalaya. I’ve led four sailing expeditions to Antarctica (though not for students…yet). As past Director of the Tasmanian Science Talent Search, the premiere science engagement competition in the state, I have a proven interest in STEM and innovation. I’ve created & delivered Gifted Education camps for the Department of Education and Independent schools and am a regular presenter at the It Takes a Spark STEM Conferences (2021-2024).
And I’m a ‘Maker’… a compulsive maker.
