  • Nepal Expedition 2025

Students who will be in Year 11 or 12 in 2025 are invited to join the Tasmanian Students Everest Expedition. This will be Doug’s seventh time leading students on an Expedition to Nepal. Students from all Tasmanian senior secondary schools are invited to join this private itinerary run through World Expeditions, Australia’s preeminent adventure tourism company.

  • Wilderness Training - Families

Tasmania is an amazing place for families to share outdoor experiences. We empower parents and children with the knowledge and skills to engage in adventure-based activities that are fun, safe and responsible. If you aren’t from an ‘outdoorsy’ background, but want to enjoy Tasmania’s natural wonders, this could be the perfect entry point!

  • Wilderness Training - Teens

Does your teen like hiking, kayaking, mountain-biking, rock-climbing or other adventures? It’s reasonable for them to want to do these things with their mates without mum or dad tagging along! This training helps teens develop a ‘safety mindset’ and better judgement. Factors that minimise personal risk, and risk to their friends, during adventure-based activities.

  • VHF Marine Radio Licence (MROCP)

An important qualification for boaters, sea kayakers, sailors, outdoor instructors or anyone in commerical shipping/port operations. Having the correct comm-unication equipment helps keep you safe. An MROCP lets you take full advantage of GPS-EPIRBs and DSC-VHF radios. Marine & Safety Tasmania’s adoption of EVDS from 1 July 2023 make it the time to act!

  • Antarctic Sailing

Expedition sailing is a passions and what better destination could there be than Antarctica? I’ve coordinated several expeditions south and know the Australian Antarctic Division’s (AAD) application and approval process. I’m always on the lookout for interesting collaborations that require logistical support. Especially small, yacht-based expeditions…even for students!

  • Wilderness Training - Adult

Do you want to escape to the ‘Great Outdoors’ but feel uncertain about your current level of knowledge and skills? Fill in your knowledge gaps with one-on-one coaching, or your group of friends can team up for custom-training and develop a set of common understandings to help you plan and execute your outdoor adventure goals.
